iMT-NASA 2018 Competition

SEND YOUR IMAGINATION TO OUTER THE SPACE

What  are the details of going beyond earth to the Moon, Mars and outer space. Do you have an idea, a vision that you think it’s novel in helping this mission?  How would our settlement work there; how will it look like? Get imaginative while staying grounded!

SHOW US SOMETHING NEW

Show us something we haven’t seen in the movies and documentaries. iMT and  NASA are looking for such fresh ideas. So get innovative; think with an engineering mindset and draw with artistic skills. The key to winning this competition is in both practicality of design or idea and beauty of the art.

GET RECOGNIZED

The winning concepts will be announced and presented in NASA cross industry innovation summit 2018, and the winners will get endorsed letters from the judges along with a trophy. The winning concepts and their creators will also be recognized on the iMT media outlets.

HUMANS BEYOND EARTH
A few things before you get started

iMT and NASA have come together to find the most practical and beautiful visions and ideas on the theme of HUMANS BEYOND EARTH. This competition is for exposing true geniuses that are out there and want their ideas to be seen and heard in highly influential crowd of NASA Cross Industry Innovation Summit of 2018. This is an annual event where executives across different industries come together to talk about enhancing, applying, and nurturing innovation. iMT has worked diligently to provide this opportunity for free to innovative minds across the world of engineering and art; so that whoever has the talent and vision can be heard by the best of the best.

,
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES

This competition is targeted toward brilliant engineers with good drawing skills or brilliant concept artists with relatively grounded ideas. If you are one of the two and you are generally a very imaginative person then your chances are high. If you have a great vision or idea but don’t have any illustration talent then team up with a concept artist online. You can use our platform imtspace.com; CGSociety, Artstation, our facebook page @imtspace or other artist forums.

ENTRIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We recommend submission of any related entry even if its recycling from your previous art works. However we are looking for entries that illustrates a detailed step of humans going beyond earth. Ask yourself; what are the phases of colonization of the Moon and Mars, what are the important moments in that journey, what are the tools that is needed; what are the things that could happen. Think about next 50 years but not much further. Try to stay away from pure sci-fi e.g. aliens, wormholes, and laser guns. You can explain your idea or components of your design with annotaion if its not self explanatory.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

We do recommend use of our template with 4K (3840×2160) resolution, JPEG format, and the overlaid text “iMT-NASA 2018” at the right lower corner with your name and email under it. File size is limited to 3MB at 5000×2500 resolution and each team/person can upload up to 5 entries on the same or different ideas. (See template in the gallery section). The submission portal is at the bottom of this page, use the buttons on the orange menu bar to register and/or login then click the submission button to upload your entry. Once you submit your entry you will get a confirmation email or message and then you will hear back from us if your submission is approved for this competition; once approved the entry will appear in the gallery below the menu.
